At Buurtbuik West, lunch is always cooked on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. Fight food waste and bring people together!Uitgebreide omschrijving
At Buurtbuik West, lunch is always cooked on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. The program looks like this:
- 09:00 - 11:00: Pick up the products from our regular suppliers with the tricycle (by the coordinators of the day)
- 11:00 - 15:00: Cooking a 3 course vegetarian meal, eating with our guests and cleaning up.
The guests come to eat at 13 o'clock and then we also have a bite to eat and then we clean everything up again. All the food that is left over we hand out to the guests. So nothing really has to be wasted! We cook in the restaurant of Buurtcentrum de Horizon in the Spaarndammerbuurt (Hembrugstraat 156). BuurtBuik West fights food waste while bringing vulnerable members in Amsterdam together to share a free meal. Every Saturday we collect surplus food at various supermarkets and vegetable shops. With this food we prepare delicious vegetarian three course meals for our guests. At BuurtBuik West you can volunteer on a regular or flexible basis, so if you have a few hours to spend, you are welcome to join us!
