Walk for health, represent AUC, share health info & help launch St. Maarten’s National Health & Fitness Challenge alongside the Ministry of Public Health.
AUC medical students and colleagues are invited to represent the American University of the Caribbean at the National Health & Fitness Challenge 2026 Kick-Off Walk-A-Thon, organized by the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour (VSA). This event brings together health professionals, community organizations, and residents across St. Maarten to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
Participants from AUC will complete a 5K community walk alongside other health organizations as part of the official launch of the Ministry’s Health and Fitness Initiative, which aims to encourage residents to stay active and improve long-term health outcomes.
During the event, AUC students will also support public health education by giving information about the importance of drinking water among community members.
This is a great opportunity for students to:
- Represent AUC in a national public health initiative
- Engage directly with the Ministry of Health and local health organizations
- Practice community health education and health promotion
- Support efforts to improve physical activity, hydration, and kidney health awareness in St. Maarten
Join us for a morning of movement, community engagement, and public health impact while proudly representing AUC.
