Over IBU

As a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation, we've been supporting parents since 1989. Initially set up by Cathie Thompson and Lesley Turner, IBU is the first parenting support network in Malaysia, and we aim to be the largest. Our goal is the same now as it was then - to support parents with young children. We hold support groups for new parents, babywearing, breastfeeding, postpartum, and single parents. Our playgroups and social groups give parents a chance to have a break and make some new friends, while kids get a fun space to play. Our workshops introduce topics of interest for parents, infant massage, first aid & CPR, baby sign language, potty training. And our signature events include culture with arts & crafts, seasonal parties and markets and jumble sales, all family-friendly fun. In short, IBU is a place for children, parents, and families to thrive.
