London Chinese Community Centre

Over London Chinese Community Centre

The Centre was founded in 1980 and was the first Chinese Community Centre in the United Kingdom. CCC’s mission is to preserve and promote Chinese culture, arts and identity, whilst helping the community to better integrate into the mainstream UK community. The Centre is one of the busiest centres for Chinese culture and community in Europe and has attracted several Royal visits, most recently from HRH Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. The team of well-trained staff and dedicated volunteers provides wide-ranging support and activities, from welfare and benefits support and advice, to language classes, cultural activities, elderly support, as well as a vibrant youth club. The Centre continually strives to meet the changing and growing demand for services and activities within this evolving community. We are always looking for ways to build on this and do more and be better at what we do.

We work with other mainstream and Chinese organisations to achieve our aims, which are:
1. To assist the Chinese/Far East Asian community to integrate within wider society;
2. To campaign for rights and equal opportunities on behalf of the Chinese/Far East Asian community;
3. To promote and support lifelong learning opportunities and cultural activities;
4. To enhance ethnic integration and harmonization, promoting multiculturalism and encourage volunteering
5. To preserve our Chinese Traditions and Culture for the younger Chinese generation
6. Above all, through working with other organisations, to make Westminster a healthier and happier place to live and to reflect the cultural diversity of the dynamic city of London.
