Special Needs Assistant Teacher: Key Responsibilities
- Assess students’ learning needs, strengths, and areas requiring additional support.
- Develop, implement, and review Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).
- Adapt lessons, teaching methods, and resources to suit different learning abilities.
- Provide individual and small-group instruction to support academic and developmental progress.
- Support students’ communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and independence.
- Use positive behaviour support strategies to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate assessments, records, and reports.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate student support.
- Use assistive technology and accessible learning materials where appropriate.
- Promote students’ wellbeing, participation, and confidence while following safeguarding procedures.

Loving Angels Enhancement Care Centre operates 2 special needs centres that provide therapy services to individuals with a variety of developmental, physical, and cognitive disabilities. Some common conditions that our qualified therapists work with include autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other learning disabilities. Our Special Need Centres are also well equipped with excellent facilities.
