We are looking for proactive and passionate volunteers who are committed to support, challenge, and guide aspiring students to achieve their learning goals.
Join the Education Recovery Tutoring Initiative (ERTI): Be a Catalyst for Change!
Are you passionate about making a difference in young lives? The Education Recovery Tutoring Initiative (ERTI) is your chance to help 600 students from six PPR communities overcome learning loss and unlock their full potential. By committing to year-long tutoring, you’ll play a vital role in shaping their futures.
Why Volunteer?
As a Volunteer Tutor, you’ll have the unique opportunity to guide students aged 7-15 (Primary 1 - Form 3) in Mathematics, English, or Bahasa Melayu. Whether you can commit to 10 weeks or 40, your impact will be profound. Imagine being the reason a child gains confidence, masters a new concept, or falls in love with learning.

Your Commitment:
- Compulsory Onboarding: Start strong with a training session where Teach For Malaysia officers will equip you with the tools and resources you need.
- Curriculum & Lesson Creation: Bring lessons to life using our carefully prepared curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of the students.
- Saturday Tutoring Sessions: Dedicate your Saturdays to tutoring in the PPR communities (half-day sessions) and witness the transformation firsthand.
- Ongoing Support: Engage in regular check-ins with Volunteer Leads to ensure you’re on track and getting the support you need.
Special Considerations:
- Flexible Tutoring Options: Whether you’re flying solo or teaming up with a buddy, you’re welcome! Invite a friend, family member, or partner to join you on this meaningful journey. Sign them up!
- Open & Accessible Venues: Tutoring sessions will take place in public halls or open spaces near the PPR, creating a community-focused environment.

Teach For Malaysia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation on a mission to give all children the opportunity to realise their potential through quality education. We partner with the Ministry of Education to reach high-need public schools. We are one of the 61 partners of the prestigious global education network Teach For All and the 2022 Merdeka Award Recipient under the Education & Community Category.
Since 2012, we have been building a transformational movement in the education system by placing the country’s most promising graduates and young professionals as full-time teachers in some of Malaysia’s most high-need schools to combat education inequity through our flagship leadership development programme called the Fellowship. In 2020, we expanded our work as the implementation partner of the 2-year nationwide Program Duta Guru (PDG), training and coaching in-service public school STEM teachers. We are also looking for passionate individuals to make an impact for our local community through our tutoring programme with students from low-cost public housing.
